Dr Sherif Boulos

Program Director

PhD in Molecular Biology, specialty Neuroscience

Sherif is an experienced research and clinical manager with scientific and professional skills to support the development and commercialisation of pharmaceutical, medical device and biotechnology assets.

His role at Resonance Clinical includes identifying and coordinating clinical studies in our focus areas of iron overload, liver disorders, metabolic disease and brain disorders.

Prior to joining Resonance Clinical he established a research laboratory investigating brain diseases, while teaching undergraduates and supervising post-graduate students. Well before this time, he worked as a sales engineer, product specialist, and technical sales executive with a number of medical and laboratory supply companies. Combined, his working life has spanned both the academic and commercial worlds. Married with two children, he enjoys Perth’s abundant coastal lifestyle and occasionally finds the time to play the guitar.

Dr Sofie De Meyer

GM Sales and Business Development

PhD Biochemistry and Biotechnology, specialty Microbiology

Sofie is an internationally recognised expert in biotechnology with 10+ years leading innovation at businesses and research institutes.

Her role at Resonance Clinical includes government and industry engagement, marketing, sales and clinical business development.

After obtaining her PhD from Ghent University (Belgium) Sofie moved to Australia to start her professional career. The commercialisation of her own research presented an ideal step change towards a career shift from pure research to innovative business development. This led to being a recipient and finalist for numerous grants and awards, including the WA Young Tall Poppy award in 2017 and the Business News 40U40 award in 2019.

In her spare time, she is treasurer at her local community organisation, enjoys an active lifestyle with her husband and dog, and recharges by gardening.
